(Working paper; will be updated continously)
Abstract:
The Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) Lab of the University of Applied Sciences Frankfurt am Main (Germany) (FH-FFM) is an interdisciplinary project of the master program Barrier Free Systems (BaSys) in cooperation with other programs of the University of Applied Sciences Frankfurt as well as other experts and companies external to the University of Applied Sciences Frankfurt. The FH-FFM AAL Lab is focusing on a few central topics within the AAL paradigm: (i) The demographic change and its implications for (1.1) the regional developments of communities, cities, and complete regions as well as for (i.2) the living situations of the people (especially elderly people with their social contexts); (ii) smart spaces for elderly people including (ii.1) sens floors, (ii.2) wireless sensor networks, and (ii.3) smart communicating robots. The FH-FFM AAL Lab is an educational research lab; the students of master programs like BaSys (Barriere Free Systems), HIS (High Integrity Systems), and other programs are studying their master program closely related to the research agenda of the FH-FFM AAL Lab. Additionally it is a clear goal of the FH-FFM AAL Lab to built up a team of professionals and to enable cooperation with industrial and institutional partners.
